In medieval times masculines were better educated and therefore better qualyfied to write a book. This doesn’t mean that women could not do it, but the chances were better for men. Also, the chance that a man is interested in drawing so many naked breasts is much higher.
It is known that Roger Bacon hide his name (cryptic) inside the works. And it is quite possible that the author did the same in the VMS.
Perhaps he even used his name and his full birthdate throughout the manuscript, scrambled it and used it as words.
